Experience the adventure of Latin America!
When do I go?
The Short-Term Program begins every year in August or September. Your exact departure date is determined by your location of service.
How long will I serve?
Depending on your schedule, you can choose to serve from 6 to 12 months.
What will I do?
In relation to your talents and desires, you will be take part in a wide variety of areas of service. This is done in order to show mission work involves more than just preaching and evangelizing.
Options of Service include:
Serving with Children
Serve in an orphanage, assist in a school for children with special needs, work with children living in the streets.
Prepare for youth conferences, help at youth groups in local churches, take part in evangelistic outreaches, experience sports ministry.
Serve in different underprivileged areas, support drug addicts, visit prisons, feed the hungry.
Helping in the national Movida office, graphic work, webpage, etc.
Where can I serve?
You will have the opportunity to serve in two Latin America countries. Currently Movida has positions in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru.
How much does it cost?
Your monthly costs are $850 (this price includes room, board, materials, insurance, and travel within Latin America). Flights to and from the United States are not included in your monthly costs. Many short-termers cover costs by receiving monthly donations from churches and friends.
Do I have to speak Spanish?
The majority of short-termers arrive in Latin America with no ability to speak Spanish, but all leave speaking fluently. Our experience proves you will learn Spanish quickly if you are courageous, patient and willing to make mistakes.
Where do I live?
You will live with a loving Latin family or directly in your location of service (for example an orphanage). This helps you with the language learning process and gives you a glimpse of another culture.
