WHO WE ARE

The word โ€œMovidaโ€ is a combination of two Spanish words mover, translated โ€œMoving Livesโ€.

Movida is an international, interdenominational Christian organization with the goal of motivating young people to grow in their personal relationships with Jesus by training them to use their gifts and talents to better serve their local churches and in world missions.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE?

Lausanne Covenant

We identify with the Lausanne Covenant, which was created at the first International Congress of World Evangelization. The conference was held in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1974. During the conference worldwide leaders of churches and evangelical organizations declared:

โ€œWe, members of the Church of Jesus Christ, from more than 150 nations, participants in the International Congress on World Evangelization at Lausanne, praise God for his great salvation and rejoice in the fellowship he has given us with himself and with each other. We are deeply stirred by what God is doing in our day, moved to penitence by our failures and challenged by the unfinished task of evangelization. We believe the Gospel is Godโ€™s good news for the whole world, and we are determined by his grace to obey Christโ€™s commission to proclaim it to all mankind and to make disciples of every nation. We desire, therefore, to affirm our faith and our resolve, and to make public our covenant.โ€
